class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alldeles d\u00e4r v\u00e4gen g\u00e5r idag d\u00e4r l\u00e5g den gamla bostaden i Forsvik.&nbsp;P\u00e5 dom tv\u00e5 f\u00f6rsta bilderna kan man se den nya bostaden under uppbyggnad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1914 &#8211; 1915 uppf\u00f6rdes den nya byggnaden varvid den gamla flyttades till dess nuvarande plats i hagen. Bruket k\u00f6pte den gamla och anv\u00e4nde den som arbetarebostad. Slussbyggnadens h\u00f6gra halva beboddes av slussvakten, medan den v\u00e4nstra halvan disponerades av lotsen &#8211; prickh\u00e5llaren f\u00f6r distriktet. 1956 byggde man en ny bro \u00f6ver kanalen. Den placerades framf\u00f6r slussen varf\u00f6r v\u00e4gen drogs precis utanf\u00f6r vaktarbostaden och dess tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.kb-gallery-id-2428_555fbf-75 class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Strax intill kanalstr\u00e4ckningen, norr om vaktbost\u00e4llet, ligger slussinspektorsbostaden, bel\u00e4gen i en stor tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd. Huset \u00e4r enligt uppgift ett av de f\u00f6rsta som uppf\u00f6rdes i Forsvik \u00e5r 1809-10, till en b\u00f6rjan som bolagshus. Br\u00f6derna Ericson l\u00e4r dessutom ha bebott huset under en period.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Byggnaden \u00e4r uppf\u00f6rd i tv\u00e5 v\u00e5ningar med stomme av knut\u00adtimmer. Grunden \u00e4r putsad och sammanfaller i \u00f6ster med en bergsknalle. Fasaderna \u00e4r kl\u00e4dda med locklistpanel som m\u00e5lats falur\u00f6d. F\u00f6nstren \u00e4r symmetriskt placerade. P\u00e5 \u00f6vre v\u00e5ningen \u00e4r f\u00f6nstren sexdelade medan de i nedre planet \u00e4r spr\u00f6jsade i fyra rutor. De har alla profils\u00e5gade f\u00f6nster\u00f6verstycken. Dasset \u00e4r rivet. Ett garage har uppf\u00f6rts intill matk\u00e4llaren.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Magasinet inrymmer ett bostadsrum avsett f\u00f6r kusken. Huset uppf\u00f6rdes av tr\u00e4 p\u00e5 en sockel av huggen sten. Fasaderna \u00e4r kl\u00e4dda med liggande fasspontpanel. P\u00e5 gavlarna har den kl\u00e4tts med diagonalt liggande panel. Kanske har Wahlstr\u00f6m inspirerats av kanalhotellets panelkl\u00e4dsel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taket har valmade gavelspetsar och \u00e4r kl\u00e4tt med falsad r\u00f6dm\u00e5lad pl\u00e5t. Skorstenen \u00e4r den vanligt f\u00f6rekommande med ett utkragat kr\u00f6n. Invid takfoten sitter profils\u00e5gade konsoler som m\u00e5lats vita. F\u00f6nstren \u00e4r av korsposttyp, och f\u00f6nsteromfattningarna \u00e4r raka och sl\u00e4ta. P\u00e5 vardera gavelspetsen sitter utsirade spiror. P\u00e5 dess \u00f6stra takfall har ursprungligen tagits upp ett tak\u00ad f\u00f6nster. Vid entr\u00e9n finns en liten veranda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Byggnaden har kvarvarande drag av schweizerstil, vilket \u00e4r tydligt i framf\u00f6rallt takets utformning och panelvariationen i fasadkl\u00e4dseln. Omvandlingen till turistbyr\u00e5 har exteri\u00f6rt inte menligt inverkat p\u00e5 byggnadens ursprungliga karakt\u00e4r. En handikappramp har byggts i anslutning till entr\u00e9n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kanalen \u00e4r f\u00f6rbi R\u00f6desund en gr\u00e4vd dubbelled. Vid R\u00f6desund fanns sedan gammalt en f\u00e4rja vars sk\u00f6tsel vid kanalens tillkomst \u00f6vertogs av kanalbolaget. Efter f\u00e4rdig\u00adst\u00e4llandet av Karlsborgs f\u00e4stning hade belastningen p\u00e5 den \u00f6kat. \u00c5r 1840 lades \u00f6ver kanalen en rullbro av j\u00e4rn p\u00e5 initiativ av f\u00e4stningen. Driften d\u00e4remot \u00e5lades kanalbolaget. J\u00e4rnbron ersattes under 1940-talet med en klaffbro som i sin tur utbyttes \u00e5r 1987.
